A meeting of the Postgraduate Board of Studies (PGBOS) in Mathematics was convened on April 21, 2025, under the chairmanship of Prof. Mukhtar Ahmad Khanday, Head, Department of Mathematics, University of Kashmir. To discuss and finalize the draft structure and syllabus for the proposed Two-Year and One-Year Master’s Programme in Mathematics under the NEP-2020 scheme, to be implemented from the academic session 2025 onwards.

A Faculty-Student Interaction session was conducted with the students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) University as part of academic and collaborative outreach activities. Faculty members of the department shared insights on current trends in mathematical research and the relevance of mathematical sciences in interdisciplinary domains.

An enriching program featuring the following sessions: 1) Celebration of National Day of Mathematics-2024 2) Awareness on the Importance of Mathematics for the School students through Expert lecturers, Skit and speeches. 3) Alumni Meet 2024 & Panel Discussion on Mathematics Education in Kashmir region. 4) Lead lectures and paper presentations by the faculty and scholars.

KU hosts orientation program on NEP -2020 implementation at PG level In his presidential remarks, Dean Academic Affairs KU, Prof. Shariefuddin Pirzada, highlighted the transformative impact of NEP 2020 on higher education and its potential to bridge the gap between conventional learning systems and modern global academic standards.
