(Got admission in M.Sc. Biochemistry, however after one year due to passion in Mathematics, he preferred M.Sc. Mathematics).

M.Phil in 1986 and PhD under the Supervision of Prof. A Aziz in 1999.

Worked in the school education during 1987-1990 (Trehgam Kupwara)

Govt Degree College Tral, Pulwama (1990-1991)

Govt. Amar Singh College Srinagar (1993-1998)

Joined Govt Degree College Handwara during 1999 for a period of 3 months.

Reader in the Department of Mathematics, University of Kashmir- December 1999.

Elevated as Professor of Mathematics in 2007.

Specialization: Complex Function theory/ Polynomials

Also, during 1990-1991, he was specially invited by the Department to teach some courses like mechanics.

Served as HOD Mathematics during, 2011-2014 and 2018-2020.

Served as HOD, Department of Mathematics during: 1991-1997, 2000-2003 and 2008-2011.

Served as Dean Sciences, University of Kashmir. InCharge Vice Chancellor KU

Subjects taught in the Department: Real Analysis, Topology, Functional Analysis and Measure theory.

Retired from University Services- May 2014.

After retirement from the University services, he has been awarded Emirates Professorship by the CSIR, New Delhi and worked in the Department till 2018. Later, he was appointed as adjunct faculty at CUK Ganderbal and in was awarded by the NBHM visiting Professorship and worked at JKIMS Srinagar. Still he is passionate and active to contribute towards the academics and research fields, we in the Department still utilize his services as and when we require his expertise.

During his stay in the Department, he has contributed to the best of his capabilities and remained active in teaching, research and administration.
