Two weeks AIS workshop begins at the Department of Mathematics, University of Kashmir



Advanced Instructional School (AIS) workshop on Combinatorics and Graph theory for Ph.D students started at the Department of Mathematics, University of Kashmir from May 1 to May 13, 2023. This workshop is being jointly organized with National Centre for Mathematics (a joint centre of IIT Bombay and TIFR Mumbai).  During the inaugural session Head of the Department Prof S. Pirzada welcomed the speakers and participants and gave a detailed description of the workshop. The chief guest of the session Prof M.A. Sofi (NBHM visiting professor to JKIMS) in his speech highlighted the importance of the event. During the inaugural session one of the speakers of the workshop Prof Amitabh Triparthi (IIT Delhi) also spoke on this occasion. Also in the inaugural session were present Prof M.H. Gulzar, Prof N. A. Rather, Prof T.A. Chishti, Prof B. A. Zargar, Dr. M.A. Mir, Dr. Ishfaq A. Malik, Dr. Shahnawaz A. Rather. The other speakers of the workshop are Prof Amitav Bhatacharya (TIFR Mumbai), Prof Ambat Vijayakumar (Cochin University of Science and Tech. Kerala), Prof  Murali Srinavasan (IIT Bombay), Prof  S. Krishnan (IIT Bombay) and Prof S. Pirzada (KU). There are 28 out stationed and 20 local participants in the workshop. The proceedings of the inaugural session  were conducted by Dr. M. Saleem Lone.
