Celebration of National Mathematics Day 21 December 2022

The Department of Mathematics, University of Kashmir, Srinagar celebrated the National Mathematics Day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great mathematician of our country Srinivasa Ramanujan on 21 Dec 2022. The Head Department of Mathematics, Prof S. Pirzada welcomed the guests and shared his views on the importance of the event. During the one-day event the speakers highlighted the life history and contributions of Srinivasa Ramanujan. The speakers were: Prof. Nisar Ahamd Rather (UoK), Prof. M. H. Gulzar (UoK), Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chishti (Director Distance Education, UoK), Prof. Bashir Ahmad Zargar (UoK), Prof. Neyaz Ahmad Sheikh (NIT, Srinagar), Prof Mukhtar Ahmad Khanday (Director South Campus, UoK), Prof Mohammad Abdullah Mir (UoK), Prof Tariq Ahmad Shikari (Director, JKIMS), Dr Rameez Raja Naqash (NIT Srinagar). The proceedings of the event were carried by Dr Mohammad Saleem Lone (UoK) and the vote of thanks was presented by Dr Ishfaq Ahmad Malik (UoK).
